5 Frame Nuc Installation Information
Select and have ready "before" pickup:
A- Hive Location - low public or private walking traffic area.
B- Hive entrance pointing South to Southeast.
C- Hive completely ready to receive 5 frame Nuc, less 5 frames in center of brood chamber.
A complete hive consists of a bottom board, brood chamber, 10 frames with wax, inner cover, and top. Inboard feeder optional.
D- When your pickup date arrives, be on time for pickup, put Nuc in floorboard of car or bed of truck, drive straight to where Hive is to be located, No stopping if possible, sit Nuc on top of hive and point in same direction as hive. "OPEN FRONT DOOR AND LET BEE'S FLY".
E- Do Not transfer into new hive immediately. "LET BEE'S FLY" for 24 to 48 hrs.
F- After 24 to 48 hrs., Lightly smoke front of Nuc and sit Nuc to the side of the hive. Open hive to receive Nuc frames.Transfer each frame slowly, keeping them is the same order as they were in the Nuc.
G- Feed hive as soon as possible with 1 to 1 sugar syrup.
H- If you have any questions about installation, have them ready to ask at pickup . We're happy to answer any of them.
